Senior Officers

Colonel (COL) - Commanding Officer

• Sets the ship’s strategic direction, long‑term mission priorities, and research objectives.
• Makes final decisions on navigation, scientific operations, security posture, and diplomatic engagements.
• Oversees the performance of all divisions, departments, and personnel.
• Serves as the primary liaison to ASTRA Command, delivering mission reports, research findings, and operational updates.
• Authorizes major shipboard actions: high‑risk experiments, emergency protocols, and deployment of specialized assets.
• Maintains overall morale, discipline, and culture aboard the ship.

Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) - Executive Officer

• Translates the Colonel’s strategic goals into actionable plans for all divisions.
• Oversees Senior Officers and ensures inter‑division coordination.
• Manages the ship’s daily operational tempo: schedules, readiness cycles, and mission tasking.
• Handles personnel matters at the officer level, including evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary reviews.
• Takes command in the Colonel’s absence.

Major (MAJ) - Division Chiefs

• Command divisions of up to 1,200 personnel across multiple departments.
• Develop division‑level mission plans, research agendas, and operational protocols.
• Ensure their division meets performance, safety, and readiness standards.
• Coordinate with other Division Chiefs to support shipwide objectives.
• Review and approve high‑level experiments, propulsion modifications, or tactical actions within their division.

Junior Officers

Captain (CPT) - Deputy Division Chiefs

• Oversees 4–8 Lieutenants and their departments.
• Manages day‑to‑day execution of division tasks, experiments, maintenance cycles, or security operations.
• Ensures inter‑department coordination within the division.
• Handles administrative load: duty rosters, resource allocation, training schedules, and readiness reports.
• Steps in as Acting Division Chief when the Major is unavailable.

First Lieutenant (1LT) - Department Leaders

• Lead departments of 80–250 personnel.
• Direct daily operations: experiments, maintenance, patrols, data analysis, or mission‑specific tasks.
• Manage department resources, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Conduct department‑level training and qualification programs.
• Report department performance, issues, and needs to their Captain.

Second Lieutenant (2LT) Assistant Department Leaders

• Assist department leads in executing the colonel's vision
• Liaise with Senior Chief Cosmons on issues of morale and discipline
• Rotate through departments to gain experience
• Train junior enlisted in department operations

Warrant Officers

Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) - Technical Advisor

• Provide advanced technical knowledge in specialized fields.
• Advise Lieutenants and Captains on complex technical decisions.
• Lead specialized projects, experiments, or troubleshooting teams.
• Train enlisted personnel in advanced procedures.
• Serve as continuity experts across officer rotations

Warrant Officer (WO) - Technical Specialist

• Provide technical knowledge in specialized fields
• Gain experience in target disciplines
• Attend advanced training schools
• Collaborate between divisions to meet ship mission

Senior Enlisted

Prime Chief Cosmon (PCC) - Senior Enlisted Advisor

• Highest enlisted rank as a senior non-commissioned officer.
• Advises the Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel
• Mentors senior enlisted crew.

Senior Chief Cosmon (SCC) - Senior Division Enlisted Leader

• Second-highest enlisted rank on the ship
• Usually assigned as Division Senior Enlisted Leader for the largest or most complex divisions
• Manages day-to-day enlisted operations within a division
• Mentors Chiefs and junior enlisted
• Oversees training, readiness, and scheduling for their division
• Acts as the division commander’s (Major’s) primary enlisted advisor

Chief Cosmon (CC) - Department Supervisor

• Leads a specific section, lab, or work center
• Direct supervisor of Cosmon First Class and below
• Ensures tasks are completed safely and correctly
• Handles shift assignments and technical oversight
• Reports directly to the Division’s SCC or Deputy Division Chief (Captain)
• Often the most technically skilled enlisted in their specialty
• Supervises within departments, typically 4-10 crew.

Junior Enlisted

Cosmon First Class (C1C)- Senior Technician / Team Leader

• Leads small teams (3–8 personnel)
• Trains junior Cosmons
• Performs advanced technical tasks
• Acts as shift lead when a Chief is not present
• Trusted to work independently with minimal supervision
• Often the “go-to” expert for routine problems

Cosmon Second Class (C2C) - Skilled Technician

• Fully qualified in their specialty
• Works independently on standard tasks
• Assists C1Cs and Chiefs with complex operations
• May supervise Cosmons and Recruits during routine tasks
• Expected to be working toward leadership qualifications

Cosmon (CM) - Basic Technician / General Crew

• Performs routine tasks under supervision
• Learning their specialty
• Assists C2Cs and C1Cs
• Rotates through different duties to gain experience
• Expected to qualify for more advanced responsibilities
